Singapore

Tripazon

Having a short weekend trip to Singapore, I managed to visit the Merlion Park that fronts the Marina Bay. The park is located in front of The Fullerton Hotel. If you do not know where the Marina Bay is, it is an artificial bay formed by land reclamation at the original site of Teluk Ayer Basin. You should also have heard of it if you are a Formula 1 fans like me. It sites the first ever night street circuit of Singapore F1 Grand Prix. It is one of the best night travel destinations for photographers.

Merlion Singapore

At the mouth of the Singapore river that flows into the bay, we have the statue of the country’s symbolic mascot, the Merlion. It is an artist creation of a lion head with a fish body. Lion in Malay means ‘Singa‘ which forms part of the name of the island, Singapore.

I shot it with my favorite Nikkor 35mm F1.8 lens, hand held at 1/30s with ISO800. To capture the star burst effect of a spotlight in the background, I opted for a smaller aperture of F3.5, though I could shoot it with maximum aperture of 1.8 for a cleaner image.

I love this shot. Hope you like it too. :)Travel Feeder, your ultimate travel photo blog.
