Summer is here! While tourists are flocking into those highly frequented destinations such as Barcelona or Valencia, why don’t we plan for a relaxing sun bathing trip to other beautiful but lesser known cities in Spain? Majorca Island is one of them.

Majorca, or better known to me as Mallorca, is the largest of the Balearic Islands, among other islands of Minorca, Ibiza, and Formentera. Located over 200Km off the Spanish mainland in the Mediterranean Sea, Majorca is close to the Catalonia region of Spain including Barcelona.

The island enjoys the exceptional Mediterranean climate which offer breathtaking greenery and mountains with rugged cliffs while having surrounded by sea with over 500KM long of coastline. These geographic features with nothing short on outdoor activities such as hiking, climbing, cycling, golfing, and sailing, have make Majorca a popular family villa holidays destination in southern Spain. Its bustling marina is famous for luxury cruise liners, traditional sailing boats and yachts.

One of the Majorca’s tourists favorite destinations is definitely the small little of of Pollensa. Being located at the feet of the Serra de Tramuntana, the mountain chain along Mallorca’s north eastern coast, Pollenca is a very attractive traditional Mallorcan town.What made this an attractive destination to me is the combination of its simple 17th century architecture and the undisturbed mountain views.

The central square, called Plaça Major, has numerous outdoor cafés and is dominated by a large 13th century church Esglèsia de Nostra Senyora dels Àngels (Our Lady of the Angels). One of the town’s most distinctive features is the 365-step stairway north of the square; this leads up to a chapel on top of the hill known as Calvary. On Good Friday this is the setting for the most dramatic parade of the year. Villas in Pollensa are often being booked by tourists from other parts of Europe including British and German especially during Summer.

Some others will preferred to flock into its long sandy beach in Puerto Pollenca. This tourists favorite little beach town is only 5km away from Pollensa where sun bathing and water sports are the main activities. Though it is small, visitors looking for accommodations are literally spoilt for choices. Large numbers of Villas Puerto Pollensa could be found in almost every corners.

Apart from those day activities under hot sun, travelers visiting Pollensa can also enjoy a lively nightlife after dark and a wealth of excellent restaurants serving good Mediterranean and Spanish cuisine. If you love to experience the exciting Spanish culture in less crowded cities, Pollensa could be the good travel destination to spend your holidays in. – Travel Feeder, your ultimate travel photo blog

Summer is here & you are wondering how to make the best use of it. While just staying at home & relaxing might seem a good option, I’d suggest a trip to Europe this summer. Before you start thinking in terms of dollars & Euros, do take a moment to think about all the wonderful countries & their exquisite culture waiting just for you! From Ireland to England, the mountains of Switzerland to the romantic land of the French, Europe holds more than you can take. If you are a student or a working professional, Europe is the place you would want to be in. for photographers, Europe holds marvellous locations that any photographer would just love to capture.

And ESL brings you an opportunity to visit any country of your choice in their language study tour package. ESL organizes summer camps in Europe that allow one and all to indulge in fun outdoor activities as well as have a very educational foreign language study. European summer camps at ESL boast of a schedule that covers outdoor activities & adventure sports as well as excursions to beautiful scenic locales. With proper guides & travelling facilities, you wouldn’t miss out any sight worth seeing in the country. Which brings me to the point where I should tell you what to expect in Europe. Starting from France, Paris will take away your breath with its beautiful architecture & fashion boutiques. Switzerland would welcome you with her horizon-spanning mountain ranges with snow-covered peaks-a sight that is a must in every tourist’s album.

You can also opt for German courses in Europe with ESL. German is largely becoming a language used world-wide, in business as well as other sectors. Numerous career opportunities await those with a flair for this language. Germany is well-known for its culture & history & is also one of the safest countries in the world for tourists. Munich, Weimar to Berlin, you can admire any of these cities in Germany this summer, along with a German learning course. There are wonderful theme tourist tours available in Germany that will take you around the beautiful cities & tourist locations. Watch the river Mosel flow down the vineyards or take a dive in the Hemmor lake or the lignite mine Kulkwitzsee- home tro exotic underwater flaura & fauna. These water bodies will make a beautiful addition to your photo album. Don’t forget the World Heritage site- Dresden, a city that literally arose from the dust after World War II.

So don’t stop to think, just grab a good camera & a few memory cards, pack your bags, get your travellers’ cheques and get ready for Europe this summer. At ESL pay for what you want & enjoy the luxury of a Europe tour & a fun summer camp at a very affordable price. Learn a new language & show off to your friends with snapshots of those perfect summer days spent in Europe! – Travel Feeder, your ultimate photo travel blog

There are so many photography opportunities one can find in Switzerland. The air is extremely fresh, the sky is super clear with bright sunlight, the water is so clean in everywhere that I can almost see through the lake to its bottom! Mountains, greenery, lakes and rivers are the most dominant elements that can be seen everywhere in Switzerland.

I’ve been to a few Swiss cities last month. Among others, Lucerne is definitely my favourite city in Switzerland. Here is one of my photos taken from the quay of Lucerne overlooking the grand view of Lake Lucerne and infamous architecture.

No kidding! First snow pour happened a couple of days ago in UK. Winter is coming earlier this year. Another 6 months we would have our Summer again in Europe. Time flies. If you are thinking of visiting Europe next Summer, start planning it now! Or if you have just bought your superbly cheap air tickets during Air Asia low fares promotion recently, start planning your Europe travel itinerary now! If you haven’t got a clue on where to go in Europe, check out my rushing sightseeing Europe tour itinerary and all those stories of my previous Western Europe travel, and you are about half done.

Traveling Europe is like everyone’s dream come true, a dream of affordability to spend so much time and money for a vacation. Apart from needing to fly long hours to get there, visiting European countries is also an costly experience. Partly because of its high demand and partly because of its high living standard, Europe’s accommodation, transportation, food and beverage costs as well as entrance fees are relatively higher than most other parts of the world. If money is not an issue to you and spending unnecessarily is your hobby, you may stop reading now and continue your sleep…

However, if money is not your issue but time is, and you love to save some money for your shopping in Europe, read on for some important information. Rather than wasting precious traveling time in Europe for searching accommodations and transportation, spend some times now at home to study, compare, plan and decide your Europe travel in this coming Summer.

Why now? Why not a month before my actual flight departure? Because,

Most of the Europe accommodations and transportation prices escalate according to demand!

Normally the local budget airlines start accepting booking as early as 6 months ahead of actual departure dates! and

Train tickets are open for sale online 3 months ahead of departure dates.

So, you can start planning and deciding which countries or cities to visit in Europe now, fix the date for your domestic flights between countries, and then book your train tickets for traveling neighboring countries in the next 3 months. Finally, book your accommodation for each destination. I leave accommodation last as there are more hostel options than trains or airlines.

I’m one of them that had bought cheap tickets to London recently and I’m now starting to plan my Eastern Europe travel! How am I going to plan? Here are what I’m going to do next:

Get an Europe map or search for Europe map in Google Map;

Mark down which Europe cities you are dreaming to go;

Check on the map and draw an invisible line to connect all these cities;

Assess the traveling route from one city to another to find the best starting and ending point;

Decide how many days you wish to stay in each city;

If you were too ambitious to have selected too many cities, tick off those cities you could afford not to go this time round;

Tick off also those cities that are detouring too far away from you overall traveling route;

Check out the transportation cost from one city to another. I would use Rail Europe for trains and Ryanair Air for budget domestic flights. Sometimes, they do offer extraordinary low fares for certain itinerary;

Counter check to include those cities with promotional transport tickets and exclude those without;

Review your final selection of cities to visit on your Europe travel;

Review your transportation budget. Try to limit it to 30% of your total travel cost;

Book your flight and train tickets;

Now, you can search for suitable accommodations in each city. I used Hostel World to book my accommodation in Europe last May;

Based on your budget, try to stay near to your exit station to avoid rushing for your next train.

If the station is very far away from the city centre (though it would not be normally), stay closer to the city centre. At least you save some traveling time when exploring the city;

Book your accommodation. If you have ample of time and wish to be adventurous, book your first night stay and look elsewhere for the following nights when you are actually there!

Done. You can now start reading more information on what you can do in each city.

Can’t help but I have to heat up further the South Africa’s FIFA World Cup 2010 fever here! Tonight (my local time at 10PM) my favorite Brazil will hit the ground against Netherland in the 1st Quarter final match. 56 matches had have their results and there are still 8 matches to go before the last team to clinch the World Cup 2010. After 11th July, FIFA World Cup would be over but the heat will still remain. What could we do after that to prolong the heat further?

The best way is off course to stay behind and start exploring the Africa soil. Before this, I have published the Top 5 Travel Attractions in South Africa for those who are traveling there during these period. Now, I will elaborate more on the foremost attraction of all, the Adventure Travel to the Kruger Park!

The best way to discover the travel secrets of South Africa in Summer is definitely the adventurous way. Apart from the usual travel book recommended travel spots of Johannesburg, travelers should also be more adventurous to explore further to the Safari! The best Safari holidays includes driving up to gold mining town of Pilgrim’s Rest with many beautiful waterfalls and unique flora, having picnic lunch, explore Bourke’s Luck Potholes, God’s Window, and the stunning scenery over Blyde River Canyon, the famous Kruger National Park where you’ll head out on game drives, spot the big ’5′: elephant, lion, leopard, rhino and buffalo. Besides the Kruger Park, other wildlife concentrated areas such as Swaziland hills, the wetlands of St Lucia, Hluhluwe with its high concentration of rhino are also worth to explore. Don’t forget to drive up to the Drakensberg Mountains where these dramatic peaks and sweeping amphitheatres of rock offer great walking possibilities.
