Travel Snapshot

I’m finally back to Malaysia after 5 days of immaculate self-travel to Phuket Island of Thailand! And I was ‘sleeping in coma’ for 1 whole day… Only today I’m really back in action again!

I’m glad that Tsunami was not attacking Phuket again… I’ve started to miss Phuket… :)

Not really 100% fit to write and think a lot as I’m still ’hangover’ from over drinking for the last 2 nights in Bangla Street of Patong Beach! Want to know how did we get drunk? Stay online! :)

Here are some of the snapshot I took in Patong Beach, where we stay for 4 nights in Phuket Island….

Patong Beach1

The above shot was actually a piece of floor tile in Patong Beach street. (Shot in an angle to avoid flare and shadow then tilted back in PS :) )

Patong Beach2

Looking at these red coloured ‘Tuk-Tuk’ and you will know here is Thailand…

Patong Beach3

And one of the unique city elements in Phuket or Patong Beach is these overhead electrical wiring. Is this what you mean by ’haywire’!? :)

This is a short post. It’s about a snapshot of a monkey eating leaves on Bukit Melawati or nicknamed Monkey Hill in Kuala Selangor. I love to shoot portraits of my children, my pets, people and portraits of animals. However, love doesn’t mean good. I love golf doesn’t mean I’m good in it. Same with photography. I love to shoot portraits but I’m not good in it. The most difficult part of a portrait shot is the ability to capture the emotion and expression in that tenth or thousandth of a second moment while they are still moving (alive?). Technically, for  a moving object like an animal or child (off course not those models who are paid to pose still), it is even more difficult to capture them sharp focusing onto their eyes. And you need a really fast lense like Nikkor 35mm f1.8 fixed lense or, under really good natural sunlights or artificial softboxes. Normally, out of 10 portraits that I shot, only 1 or 2 are satisfactorily, to me. So, I’m still learning and trying…

Monkey portrait

This is one of those few shots that I managed to capture and focus onto the eyes of a long tailed monkey (or silverleafed monkey?) during my recent short trip to Kuala Selangor, the old royal capital of Selangor state of Malaysia. More stories on the trip to Kuala Selangor is coming up next. Subscribe RSS Feeds for free upcoming stories of Travel Feeder. – Travel Feeder.

What do you see in a children playground? A tyre swing? Monkey bar? Sliding tube? Teeter Totter? Climbing ladder? Or you have never been once? I’ve seen all the above very often because every time I go to a park with my children, there are sure a dedicated compound with rubber chipping floor and children [...]

I was there on the 2nd October 2009 night hoping to see some lantern decorations for this year’s celebration of Chinese’ Mid-Autumn Festival. Unfortunately I was so disappointed that nothing was on display, though the celebration is only one day away! And less than ten visitors were there including me. No luck though, I took some [...]

Ever wonder why those lense manufacturer never had designed lense with f-number smaller than f1.2? F-number is representing the size of the maximum aperture or opening diameter of lense. The smaller the f-number is, the larger is the lense aperture. The larger the aperture is, the higher the permeability of light is the lense. Thus, higher [...]
