Can’t help but I have to heat up further the South Africa’s FIFA World Cup 2010 fever here! Tonight (my local time at 10PM) my favorite Brazil will hit the ground against Netherland in the 1st Quarter final match. 56 matches had have their results and there are still 8 matches to go before the last team to clinch the World Cup 2010. After 11th July, FIFA World Cup would be over but the heat will still remain. What could we do after that to prolong the heat further?
The best way is off course to stay behind and start exploring the Africa soil. Before this, I have published the Top 5 Travel Attractions in South Africa for those who are traveling there during these period. Now, I will elaborate more on the foremost attraction of all, the Adventure Travel to the Kruger Park!

The best way to discover the travel secrets of South Africa in Summer is definitely the adventurous way. Apart from the usual travel book recommended travel spots of Johannesburg, travelers should also be more adventurous to explore further to the Safari! The best Safari holidays includes driving up to gold mining town of Pilgrim’s Rest with many beautiful waterfalls and unique flora, having picnic lunch, explore Bourke’s Luck Potholes, God’s Window, and the stunning scenery over Blyde River Canyon, the famous Kruger National Park where you’ll head out on game drives, spot the big ’5′: elephant, lion, leopard, rhino and buffalo. Besides the Kruger Park, other wildlife concentrated areas such as Swaziland hills, the wetlands of St Lucia, Hluhluwe with its high concentration of rhino are also worth to explore. Don’t forget to drive up to the Drakensberg Mountains where these dramatic peaks and sweeping amphitheatres of rock offer great walking possibilities.

Above is a typical drive route for a Safari exploration.

A couple of months ago, Cecil invited me to write about five of my favorite attractions in my adopted hometown, Catanzaro, Italy. Catanzaro is the capital of Calabria-the region located in the toe of the boot, between Basilicata and Sicily. Today, I’d like to expand a bit and tell you about five of my favorite destinations in Calabria.
1) Le Castella - Le Castella engulfs a tiny island in the province of Crotone in a sleepy village of the same name. There are few markers and tourism-except in July and August-is minimal and the friendly villagers of Le Castella are oblivious to the fame of its namesake landmark. While the origins of Le Castella are lost in time, legend links the castle to mythical Ogygia, the island where the sea goddess Calypso lived when she held Ulysses hostage in Homer’s The Odyssey. Today, Le Castella stands, glistening in the sun that reflects off of the Ionian waters and is one of the most popular iconic images of the region.
2) Diamante – Diamonds are a girl’s best friend, but one glance at the star-studded waters off of Calabria’s west coast and even the most macho, masculine man will be mesmerized. Diamante-or diamonds, as we’d say in English-has a bright white pebble and sand beach and is considered by many to be one of the most beautiful fishermen villages in Italy. In the early 1980s, starving artists without a canvas to paint on took to the historical center of Diamante and unleashed their artistic talents on the town. Today, there are around 150 hand-painted murals, earning the city the nickname … “the City of Art.” The city is also famous for its annual red chili festival, held at the beginning of each September.

3) Cirella – Cirella is just a few minutes north of Diamante and features stretching green hills of olive trees and citrus groves. The island is divided into two sections-the beach and the old town-but it is the old city, sitting high upon Cirella’s hill with historical monuments and Roman ruins that is most intriguing. Many people visit both Cirella and Diamante in one trip.
4) Tropea – Tropea features one of the most dramatic coastlines in the world and is one of Calabria’s most well-known destinations. Its emerald-green waters meet a swooping cliff that is topped by the iconic Santa Maria dell’Isola Church. Unlike other Calabrian towns, Tropea is maximizing its tourism efforts and has created a true beach resort for people of all ages.
5) Pizzo – Located just half an hour from Tropea on the Tyrrhenian Coast, Pizzo is a pint-sized fishing village that is full of history, mystery and some of the best homemade gelato in the country. The main piazza features views of the Mediterranean and endless tartufo-domes of homemade hazelnut and chocolate ice cream with a gooey chocolate center, covered with cocoa. The piazza is overshadowed by the Murat Castle, named for Napoleon Bonaparte’s brother-in-law who was executed inside and the should-be famous Chiesetta di Piedigrotta is just a few minutes away.

I had my wish list drafted early this year which included 3 travel plans to be realised in this year. Europe travel is already a past success. I had an immaculate Europe sightseeing tour last month. I’ve also visited Singapore‘s first ever casino, the Resort World. Currently I’m researching for my 3rd travel plan of this year which is a holidays to Beijing. I should be heading to Beijing in October later this year. So what would be my next travel plan?

I love Sunshine Coast!
Planning for my next year wish list, I’m now searching tours planners such as Qantas holidays for some travel ideas. What does this mean? I’m planning to travel to either Australia or New Zealand next year! I would love to visit them in Autumn next March! If you have been following my travel stories, you should know how much I love Australia. One of my favourite travel destinations so far is Gold Coast of Queensland, Australia. I love the city, the weather, the people and everything there. I wish I could fly back there again one day. Besides, I’m wishing I could visit the other major city of Australia in the South East, Melbourne. I think I’m going to love Melbourne as well.

I love the city, the people and the environment in Gold Coast
Since I’m flying to Melbourne, by hope, I could travel further down to have a Holidays in New Zealand! To me, New Zealand is a special country full of grasslands, greenery, mountains and what else, sheep. Indeed sheep population of over 10 Million is far more than its 4.3Million people. I love natural landscapes so much that I believe I will also fall in love with this country. With huge craving over natural sunlight in photography, I just can’t wait to shoot those New Zealand’s natural landscape under Autumn sunlight!
So I have to work extra hard this year to make my life easier next year. Then I would have more time in Traveling and photographing! Ciao.

Guest post by Laura Thayer Arriving by boat into the harbor of Marina Grande on Capri is one of the highlights of traveling to southern Italy’s Campania region. Most people arrive for the day on one of the many ferries or high-speed jets from the nearby ports of Naples and Sorrento or cities along the [...]
I’ve finally seen it! I’ve finally seen the original painting of Mosa Lisa! A portraiture masterpiece by Leonardo Da Vinci, Mona Lisa is one of the reasons why I was going back to Paris and Louvre Museum. I wanted to capture it with my Nikon D60 this round on my Europe travel and I satisfactorily did. [...]
Planning your Europe travel involves so many different aspects that missing either one of them would probably ruin your whole trip. One of them is the weather. Though you can’t predict when it is going to rain or snow on each day, you could still plan your Europe travel to be in any season of [...]
We haven’t been doing this for a very long time since the last travel photo quiz of China. I would love to have another quiz today. Look at the photo below. No single building in this row of houses is properly or identically aligned! They are either slanting outward, sideway or backward. The funny thing [...]
Progressively, I will pick and put up 5 best photos taken in each city on my Europe travel here which I love most (though the process takes a bit long ). Being first of the series, 5 photos were picked for my first Europe Travel city, London. It was challenging to decide which are the [...]
Apart from being a South East Asian and an Australasian tourists destination, with a totally different culture, weather and religion, Phuket and Gold Coast do have something in common. Both of them have beautiful long, white sandy beaches, beautiful sunshine, and friendly people. Also they are both very popular destinations among travelers around the world. [...]
