Travel photos – Brezelkonig pretzels of Switzerland

Brezelkönig, a home brand in Switzerland selling pastries especially Brezelkonig pretzels. The big, soft and hot pretzels are freshly baked throughout the day and are popular street food loved by the local people. It was the first local food I tried in Switzerland when Jean and I arrived at Lucerne central train station. The pastries kiosk is inside the train station lobby and when we saw so many people queuing up we decided to try them.

Here are a few travel snapshots I took in front of the Brezelkonig stall that could easily entice you to fly over to Switzerland for a try!

Brezelkonig-1

There are countless choices of pretzels with different topping and filling to choose from. I believe the cheese sandwiched pretzels are the most popular as there are many on shelf. Other pastries including sandwiches are also available.

Price range for pretzels is from CHF2.50 for the plain one to CHF5.00 for cheese and butter pretzel. Definitely not the cheapest but are still considered a reasonable priced street food in Swiss standard.

These are freshly baked plain pretzels just taken out from the oven.

Brezelkonig pretzels -4

We bought a plain and a raclette pretzel to try for the first time. They are delicious and could easily be one of the best pretzels I have ever had.

Brezelkonig pretzels stalls can be found all over Switzerland. It is definitely a good option for your quick lunch before continuing your journey to other travel attractions in Switzerland. We bought a couple of them again before we caught a train down from Lucerne to Interlaken. More stories on my Swiss travel are coming up next. 🙂 – Travel Feeder
