China
On the 7th day of our vacation travel to South Yangtze China, we woke up and found ourselves still in Wuxi, China. It was early in the morning at 6:45am. Looking out of our hotel room window, the sun was rising and I managed to capture the perfect dawn scene (though some reflection from window glass could be spotted).

We packed our luggage and had our breakfast at the hotel before we were brought to another tourist attraction of WuXi, the LiHu Scenic Area at 8:30 in the morning.

LiHu scenic area, as part of the LiHu Lake (蠡湖), with another name Five Li Lake, is one of the bay of the main lake of Taihu Lake. WuXi is a city built along the TaiHu Lake of China. While LiHu is only part of Taihu Lake, it still covers a large area of 9.5 square kilometers. It is named after the legend of Fanli and Xishi (one of the four famous beauties in ancient China).

LiHu scenic area has become a tourist spot recently after the local authorities decided to transform it into the new city of Lihu township with the development of various housing, commercial and tourists facilities. Travelers could come here to admire the special scenic view of the lake which they call it The Brilliance of LiHu Lake (蠡湖之光).

As I mentioned earlier, we were brought to the place and only allowed merely less than 15 minutes at the area to take photographs
(this is why I always emphasize on Self-travel as against this kind of packaged travel). So what should I do? Held tight to my Lumix FZ28 and took as many photos as I could, as consolation.

The view in that morning was really breathtaking to me. Natural perfect sunlighting in that early winter morning was the key to these exciting photos.

I was there at LiHu lake before! (What could I do other than posing for a shot) ![]()

In fact, tourists could buy a ticket here to take up cruising around LiHu Lake. I’ll do it if I were there by self-travel… only RMB20 per pax.

Different from the cruise ride at HuangPuJiang of Shanghai and also the larger cruiser in HangZhou XiHu, small motor boats are deployed for LiHu Lake cruising.

Finally, I took 4 photos in a row horizontally across the LiHu Lake scenic area and stitched them all up to create this panorama view of the LiHu Lake superb scenic view! Perfect stitching! Thanks ArcSoft! Click the photo or here to view full size of Lihu Lake Panorama at Flickr.

During our only night in WuXi China last packaged tour to South Yangtze China, after another factory visit to Wuxi Clay Teapot factory, we went to a shopping complex in the town, the most famous Parkson mall. There aren’t any pedestrian precinct at night in Wuxi like Guan Qian street in SuZhou, as what the local tour guide told us (maybe there is which she reluctant to bring us to….
), so we were brought to this shopping complex, to do some shopping. Not much to shoot inside the complex. We did some shopping and I went outside to take a autumn breath.
Then I snapped this shot with my excellent Panasonic Lumix FZ28. It is just a night scene over the WuXi street but it was beautifully lit up.

After the “nothing special” night excursion, we headed back to our hotel in WuXi for the only night there. It was quite a nice contemporary designed room with comfortable setting and lighting.

One thing (at least) good about our packaged travel to China was all hotels (except HangZhou) that we stayed in were similar standard to the one I showed you here in these 2 photos, ranging from 3 to 4 stars rating.

We had a good sleep that night before we continued our exploration of the clay art city of WuXi, China. To know how the perfect pearl production like, subscribe to my RSS Feeds for free updates! – Travel Feeder.
After reading my last story on the Lingshan Grand Buddha scenic area in WuXi China, you must be wondering what and how was the “Bathing By Nine Dragons” show that we watched at the travel spot. During our short stay at the area, we managed to catch one of the 4 shows that scheduled on [...]
It was the 6th day of our packaged travel to China. We left Nanjing after lunch at the jade factory and reached WuXi in 1 hour 45 mins. WuXi is our 5th and last city to visit in this travel package. The moment we passed the city boundary and took a short break at highway rest [...]
