Travel Destination

Do you feel it? I felt it since these last couple of days that Travel Feeder is getting a bit too grave in its writing. I sat down last night to have some periodic review of my own travel blog and found that I should revive it’s image a little bit to make it more fun for travelers. And it’s the whole purpose of vacation travelling anyway! So I’ve decided to add some travel fun here. Yu…Hoo… Com’on cheer up guys! Before I tell you the story straight away like what I’ve been doing, let’s start with this little photo quiz: GUESS WHERE IN THE WORLD THIS PHOTO IS SHOT? Hint: This is a popular travel site that I’ve been to, and the birds are the famous Rainbow Lorikeet.

This quiz is only last for 24 hours! So come on and make a wild guess by commenting to this little post HERE. Grand prize of 8D7N stay in Las Vegas, USA inclusive of return air ticket would be given away to whoever first with the correct answer! Prize presentation ceremony would be held in my ‘dream’….. ha ha ha :)

Anyway, the answer will be first announced in my next post RSS Feed. So subscribe as a reader NOW! And BIG BIG thanks for your participation!! :) See ya – Travel Feeder.

I think many people around the world should have heard of the famous mountain resort of Malaysia, Genting Highlands. Let’s have a brief introduction on this ‘City of Entertainment’.

Founded by the late Tan Sri Lim Goh Tong in the late 1960s, Genting Highland is the hub of entertainment with outdoor and indoor theme parks, shopping malls, Karaoke, restaurants, bars and most importantly, it is the home of the only legal land-based casino in Malaysia.

Genting Night View

Located on top of the 1700m above sea level mountain and on the border of Pahang and Selangor States, it is sometimes referred as the Las Vegas of South East Asia. If you drive up from Kuala Lumpur, you should be able to reach to the top in 1 hour time. Some might prefer to get there by taking the world’s fastest and South East Asia’s longest cable car (3.38km), Genting Skyway. There are over 20 million visitors visit Genting Highland each year and among those hotels in Genting Highland, First World Hotel has a total of 6,118 rooms, making it the largest hotel in the world. It’s also the famous getaway for our local Malaysians and also Singaporeans and that is why I was there last weekend.

I travelled up there with my family on the Saturday morning and checked-in to Ria Apartment, next to Theme Park Hotel, which is the local favorite for families.

Outdoor Theme ParkOur ‘Standard’ activities there were bringing kids to the outdoor theme parks for some fun in the afternoon until they are tired. Then we went back to apartment for our own prepared steamboat dinner, chatting and drinking, stayed up til midnight and kids all slept. There came our prime activity: Trying our luck in Casino!

Casino StarWorld
The next morning is always the hardest moment for all of us. Kids awoke while parents just fell asleep….

Indoor Theme Park After having our late breakfast or ‘brunch’ in our apartment and checked out then after, we continued to have fun at the bowling alley while kids continued ’stimulating’ our Malaysia economy by spending enormously at the indoor theme park. Our kids were so ‘hardworking’ to have earned a thousand prize tickets that could be exchanged for some toys. :)

Around 4 o’clock in the afternoon, we left the peak and drove half way down the mountain to have our late lunch at Goh Tong Jaya (or you could consider it as early dinner). There are over twenty seafood restaurants in Goh Tong Jaya where it is famous for. One of them that we always dine-in is Long Kee Restaurant which we ‘think’ and should be the most ‘value for money’ seafood reataurant in the area. Then we wrapped up our short 2-day-trip to our beloved mountain family resort, Genting Highland. – Travel Feeder.

P/s: Travel Feeder is dedicating this post to the founder of Genting Highland, the late Tan Sri Lim Goh Tong, for his determination to convert an isolated and left-out hinterland of Pahang into one of the biggest casino with the most hotel rooms in the world.
