What is your new year 2013 travel resolution?

I’ve been asking the same question each year at about the same time. What is your new year travel resolution? Hooray! Year 2013 is finally here. We have a brand new year ahead of us. The “End of world” Mayan doomsday prophecy has passed and god bless we are still alive. Now we should start looking ahead for the new era and a better world (Did I mention a safer world?). For travel addicts like me, planning a whole year’s travel is always a priority! 🙂

I’ve been setting high bar for my travel resolution in the past years, but for 2013, I try to be more laid back. I will still be traveling around, off course, but this coming year, I wish to slow my pace and spend more times on reading and blogging rather than running and rushing. I’m longing for a more relaxing travel, to go off the beaten path deeper into the country, so my first impression towards the city would not be justified only by highly frequented tourist spots.

I traveled to quite a few cities around the world. While feeling excited to share my travel photos taken with my friends and fans, I also love to share my thoughts, tips and guides on the cities I’ve been to. Unfortunately, limited times allowed on my past travels means my perceptions towards a certain country could be superficial, unless I could spend enough time to truly learn more about their history, culture and people.

In order to achieve this, I swear to allocate more time on each city that I travel to. The best way to achieve this is to make travel blogging my full time job. Yes. I’ve been traveling and blogging part time. Blogging and photographing travel is my biggest interest. I’ve been making enough money from blogging travel to cover all my traveling and photographing expenses, but it’s still not sufficient to get myself fired from my real job now. But enough is enough. I can’t have both the worlds. So my next Year 2013 travel resolution is to write more useful tips and guides on my travel blog and get more supports and sponsorship so I can come out on my own and say “Sayonara” to my employer! It’s always a “Chicken and Egg” philosophy. The more time I spend on travel and more stories to share on this blog, the more responses and supports I will get from you guys and more advertisement fees from Google Adsense and Advertiser. With more income coming in from sponsors, I would have enough money to quit my real job and have more times on travel and blogging. Same theory goes round in circles.

After all, my biggest resolution for the new year, is to become one of the key player in world travel industry. Wish my luck and come to support me by reading my blog regularly if you find it interesting and useful for your future travel planning. More travel photos and stories will be added to this blog regularly.
