When we talk digital camera for travel, the first thing I must see to it is the duration of the battery. I prefer to have a digital camera that the “lifespan” of the battery, takes a longer period of time.

Goods review.Thank you ! I use a Canon EOS camera and I think they are excellent and becoming super value too. They weigh more but they are much more flexible than the non DSLR cameras. I’m old school so I like to have a viewfinder to look through, so I don’t see that as a short coming.

It’s kind of a tough call, whether to pack a full-size digital SLR, or a compact digital for snapshots. In traveling to an exotic locale, you don’t want to waste the experience, so having a full-featured camera with your choice of lens is a plus. On the other hand, you don’t want it to weigh you down in the ‘having fun’ department either.

Kind of depends on the purpose for your trip…

The ideal solution would be to take both, I’d guess. : )
