Travel snapshot – Gwangalli Beach panorama at night

Gwangalli_Beach_panorama

This is my snapshot image of Gwangalli Beach panorama captured on my short tour to Busan. 3 individual photos with different perspective were taken and stitched together using Photoshop Element. Because the beach is so attractive and vibrant at night with so many features surrounding it, I decided to create this Gwangalli Beach panorama shot to show them all in one image.

Gwangalli Beach is one of the most popular beach frequented by both local Korean as well as foreign visitors traveling to Busan. It is next to another getaway paradise beach of Haeundae, where we stayed during our Korea tour this late Spring, early Summer holidays.

It was at night but the sky was still pleasantly blue in colors, thanks to the rising moon.  Gwangan Bridge was lit up attractively spanning across the cove and colorful buildings with restaurants, shopping and hotels were lining up at the other side. Young Korean and students gathered there for either a night stroll, or were mostly came here for the weekend night live performances which going to start soon later at that night. You can see those spotlights shining bright at the performing venue the other side of the beach.

This travel photo of Gwangalli Beach panorama were shot handheld without deploying tripod. Travel Photography Tips: In order to capture the lively environment of a scene and reasonably freezing the people movement at night, it is still preferred to photograph without using a tripod. With modern digital cameras, especially DSLR or system cameras, this can be done fairly easily by combining high ISO of at least 1600 or 3200, and with a slow shutter speed of 1/8 second or at most 1/30 second. Depends on the result and surrounding ambient lighting, you must check the result and adjust the exposure compensation (EV) setting in order to achieve a balanced lighting without overexposing the dark scene at night, which is critical for night photography.

I  love this photo very much and hope you enjoy seeing it too. Come back to read my travelogue in Busan later where I will share where have I been and What I have done in Busan.
