My travel photo of Alexanderplatz, Berlin

Alexanderplatz, a nice name to remember in German, especially when you don’t understand much German language. Alexanderplatz is a large square in Mitte Berlin district, or the Berlin city centre. It is also the hub for all Berlin public transport including S-Barn and U-Barn. I like the way Germans named their train network, with S-Barn being Surface train and U-Barn being Underground train network, which you can’t get confused with.

Alexanderplatz is a square located beside the train station with the same name and with the Berlin landmark of Telecommunication Tower at the other side of the station. There is a fountain in the middle of the square, Park Inn Hotel and departmental stores around. Many activities including nightlife are carried out in the area. It is also the centre for the local people to gather and work.

I took this photo with my D7000 and Tamron SP10-24mm UWA lens while I was in Berlin last summer. Although the scene was pretty much distorted due to my Ultra Wide Angle lens, I chose to leave it as it is without any PS correction action since I love the way the buildings slanting. 🙂 – Travel Feeder, your ultimate photo travel guide to Europe
