We must travel with 2 large dogs, 2 large kennels, 2 large suitcases, 2 person from Rome Fiumicino Airport to Praia A Mare in Calabria. Can we take a train? Which one? I thought the size of the kennels would be a problem, but do not follow the info on the websites. I am confused also with the names of trains. Is there one train system or many? )Rail Europe, Trenitalia, Eurostar? Thank you.

Please advise me if we can take a train from Rome Fiumicino Airport to Calabria, Praia A Mare. We are moving there. We want to know which train system will accept 2 large dogs, golden retrievers and 2 giant kennels, 2 suitcases, 2 persons. The kennels are 48 in long by 32 in wide by 35 in tall. Must I buy tickets ahead? We cannot stay overnight in Rome; we want to go to Praia A Mare, but know that we may have to get off the train at another town. Thank you.

A good top 5 - Calabria has so many fantastic towns. I think another that could be mentioned is Capo Vaticano and is also a must to visit when in Calabria. Scilla close to Reggio Calabria is also a stunning area with equally dramatic coastline.
