This is quite interesting. I still could see hawkers carrying pole with foods walking on the streets in Patong Beach. During our recent travel to Phuket Island, we tried some of these mobile hawker foods and I can tell you that there were all very tasty indeed. For pole hawker foods, they are normally snacks and light foods like grilled sweet corns, sugar cane stick, pancakes or potatoes.
I found this pole hawker was the best. It was 9 o’clock in the morning. He was carrying a pole with full basket of local foods wandering along the infamous Bangla Street, just like me. He was so cute that willing to pose for this silly travel photographer crazy hunting for his photo subject. Look at the foods. They are fried noodles, fried fish, fried chicken, Thai salads, stir fish, vegetables which were actually aimed for locals who wake up early to clean up the mess on the street after the entertaining Phuket nighlife on the street. Since they are for local people, you could buy them at a very cheap price from only 20Bahts! Worth trying… if you could wake up as early as the locals… after all the alcohols…
