Big Buddha Phuket1

This is a snapshot taken during my recent visit to Phuket Island, Thailand. Measuring 45m high, this Big Buddha of Phuket is the latest (or going to be) tourist spot of Phuket. It was still under construction when I was there in October 2009 and the placement of its eyes (which means the buddha would be alive then) was expected to be in December last month. Underneath it is small statues of god for construction. a temple was built next to the big buddha. Standing on top of the hill in southern part of the island, visitors could oversee the Andaman Sea and Karon Beach.
