Today In History

Since many cities of Europe experienced early snow a couple of weeks ago, the weather condition in these cities of Northern Europe, such as London, Edinburgh, Amsterdam, had never improved. Continuous snowing had forced traffic and public transport into halt. Yesterday, the situation became worse as the heavy snow has blanketed Paris and forced the Eiffel Tower to close completely for public visit! It was the heaviest snowfall in Paris since 1987, 24 year ago.

According to France’s meteorological service France Meteo, 11 centimetres (4 inches) of snow fell in central Paris, prevented around 100 flights from taking off or landing at Roissy airport during the temporary closure while workers cleared the runways of the heavy snow. Thousands of passengers were stranded at the airport late Wednesday after the access roads to the airport were blocked!

It has caused great impact on Paris tourism as tourists who planned to visit Paris this week would have to cancel their travel plans! This is one of the reasons why people are less fond of traveling to Europe during Winter. Unless you are planning for a Ski Holidays or a snow seeing tour, the best time to travel to Europe should never be in Winter. That is why most travelers prefer to visit Europe during Summer and the demand of accommodations, trains and flights tickets are so high because of this. So to say, planning your Europe Summer Holidays next year well ahead, as early as now, is very important for budget travelers like me, in order to grab early bird’s offers! :)

Why bother to book cheaper fares and accommodations in Winter but risk your dream holidays in Europe to heavy snow? Always visit your travel destination during its best visiting time of the year if you are traveling there for the first time. The best time to visit Europe would be in either late Spring or early Autumn when there are lesser crowds but still having perfect daylight for capturing great photo of the Eiffel Tower, like the one above. Can you get this kind of shot in winter?  :)Travel Feeder, your ultimate travel photo blog

Are you ready!? Hold your breath! Sit tight before reading on! Why? Air Asia Budget Airline is giving away FREE SEATS yet again! :) Go and grab it NOW! The promotion is starting this midnight! Book your air tickets from 9th Nov 2010 until this Sunday, 14th Nov 2010, for air travel from 1st Jul 2011 until 10th Nov 2011. As usual, this free seats offer is meant for tickets only. You still need to pay for the airport tax, check-in luggage, optional seat and optional foods on board.

This time Air Asia is giving away free seats for Air Asia flights flying from Kuala Lumpur LCCT to other Asian cities, AS WELL AS from other major Asian cities to LCCT (if you happen to be in one of those Asian cities and wish to visit Malaysia). Air Asia X flights are excluded for this round of promotion. It is a great chance to buy air tickets online cheaply (and most probably the cheapest!) to make your travel dreams come true! If you haven’t know about this, I realised my dreams to have travelled to Bali, Phuket and Europe by flying with Air Asia!  I like Air Asia so much because they are true budget airline. Their fares are the cheapest (if you get it in the right time, just like this time), the most transparent (you will know how your fares are coming from), the most flexible (you can choose what optional items you need), with over par service quality (They are the Best Budget Airline in the world for 2009 and 2010).

Many may ask why should we bother this? Isn’t there always another FREE SEATS offer again in a few months time? You may be right, or may be not. As what I can recall, this is the first time Air Asia releasing Free tickets for flights flying from July to November next year 2011. (you may check out their previous Rm 1 Ticket promotion and Free Seat Offer). So this is the best chance to grab the cheapest tickets for your preferred flying dates as there are still many on offer. There may have other Low Fares promotions few months down the road but only very limited promotional seats will be available then! And this is the Biggest difference!

Of course, there are certain Tips for booking Air Asia flights if you may want to know before booking!

Stop reading this and GO TO GRAB THEM BEFORE YOUR DATES ARE TAKEN!!Travel Feeder, your ultimate travel photo blog
