One of the most prominent feature that you will notice in Venice is these Venetian masks, which can be seen everywhere in shops in Venice.Venetian masks is a century old tradition in Venice which was popularised from the Carnival of Venice, which held 40 days before Easter each year. These masks are used traditionally to hide the real identity of a person, especially when people from different social class meet together.

Venetion masks

The unique bright and shining design of Venetian masks made them an icon for its origin city of Venice. They serve as a popular souvenir for travelers who visited Venice these days. There are so many different types of designs, including Full face (Bauta), half face (Columbina), Long beak (Medico Della Peste), feminine face (Moretta) or White face (Volto).

When you walk along the streets in Venice, you will surely spot shops displaying these masks on their shopfront, like the one in my above photo. Of course there are some good and also bad one. This shopfront caught my attention with the golden colours and fine detailing of the mask design.

Pardon me. My travel blog has been lagging behind my real travel to Europe all these while. I’ve been to Europe twice since last year but I had only blogged about my stories on the Europe tour last year. I have not really touched on my experiences in other European cities like Barcelona, Lucerne, Interlaken, Berlin, Copenhagen and Brussel where I visited in June this year (except sharing some travel guides that I learnt from there)! Making this situation worse is, I’m flying off to Beijing for another week tour this month! How am I going to catch up?

In fact, I’m kind of slack when writing travelogue. Not because I’m less passionate in travel, neither am I willing to share my experience. It’s because I’m not a good story teller, either am I a good travel writer, to actually lift up your spirit in travel. I can always share my experience in particular if you ask me, but I found it hard to write them all down as an interesting story. Also true is, my travel stories are not important to travelers. Travelers always love to experience themselves their own holiday in any countries or destinations, not to just follow exactly what someone had done before! I found writing some guides on travel to, or what to do in a city, will make more sense to fellow travelers. And this is my objective behind my new project, From Travel to Photo.

A bad excuse is better than none! Hahaha… :) Please give me some slack and I will speed up my travel blog, hopefully! :)

Avenue Des Champs Elysees4

Before I start my stories on Italy travel, let’s wrap up (or rather recap) some of the exciting posts (sort of?) that I blogged about Paris travel last year. They are good travel guides to Paris if you are planning your own, which featured my 2-Day-itinerary in Paris:

  1. Top 5 attractions in Paris you must not miss
  2. The magnificent Eiffel Tower sparkling scene at night
  3. The white cathedral of Sacred Coeur Basilica
  4. The Louvre museum and its Visitor guide
  5. The Notre Dame cathedral
  6. Le Bistro de Longchamp restaurant
  7. My travel experience in Paris – Day 1 – From Gard du Nord to Monmartre
  8. My travel experience in Paris – Day 1 – From Sacred coeur to Eiffel Tower
  9. My travel experience in Paris – Day 2 – Avenue des Champs Elysees
  10. My travel experience in Paris – Day 2 – From Louvre to Notre Dame

All tips and guides to Paris travel can also be read under the dedicated category of Paris. Paris is not the first city I blogged about my travelogue, and definitely won’t be my last… :)Travel Feeder, your ultimate photo travel blog

How could we ensure great experiences from each and every travel that we planned for? I have shared some of the travel tips on things to prepare for your trip, things to do on travel, things not to do on travel, but I have never touched on one most important factor in great travel experience, which before anything else, is our health condition.

Yes. Our health condition at the time of traveling can decide the quality of our holidays, whether it was a great or a bad holidays, as simple as that. I had never thought of that before. Until after I had a bad cough and blocked nose for the whole of my Europe Travel MkII recently, I realised that unfit body had almost ruined my whole trip! I had far less energy to walk around, to climb up hills and to take more photos. Chemoreceptors of my smelling and tasting senses were affected also and unfit for trying those fantastic local foods in German, Switzerland, Brussels and Copenhagen; Bad cough had also made me felt not like going anywhere! Overall, all these had actually made my holidays far less enjoyable!

This is my personal experience. A fit and healthy body is in fact the most important factor for a good and enjoyable vacation travel. Forget about other factors such as weather, money, companion, people, foods, language, culture shock  or anything else. Without a perfectly fit body, we can’t appreciate any other things or experience to its fullest! Imagine this: How could we look for great photographic perspective view when we are reluctant to walk more with a bad cough? How could we communicate and talk and laugh endlessly with local people or fellow travelers we meet on travel when we keep coughing and sneezing? How could we taste the best foods when our nose is blocked and our sensory organs are not functioning perfectly?

So here is the travel tips: Before gaining our immaculate travel experience from our planned travel, we need to keep our body and health 100% fit!

A fit and healthy body is a prerequisite factor to ensure great holidays experience. With a fit and healthy body, we will be able to walk about the old city cobble stoned streets, to hike up the scenic mountains, to taste the best authentic local cuisine, and off course, have a superbly clear mind in finding best photo shooting angle with our Photographer’s Eyes. Having said that, I’d still taken more than 3,500 photos from my Europe trip recently, albeit with an unfit body! :)Travel Feeder, your ultimate photo travel blog

One of the most exciting destination in my Europe travel last year, Amsterdam has actually a lot more on offer than its famous red light district. It was the last city to be included into my last Spring Europe travel itinerary. We went there merely for the blooming season of tulips in the nearby city [...]
