Travel Snapshot – Wedding ceremony at Saint Josephs Church, Beijing

Never expect there are so many Christian and Catholic churches in Beijing, a city that is so rich in Chinese culture and historical background. When I was on my travel to Beijing, I spotted a western styled wedding ceremony in one of the famous church in the heart of Wangfujing district, the Saint Joseph’s Church. Saint Joseph’s Church or Eastern Church is the most conspicuous cathedral in Beijing which located along Wangfujing Street. Inside the church, many precious religious paintings drawn by Giuseppe Castiglione are preserved. After several restorations in recent years, it has become a cultural site with unique features in the Wangfujing Area.

Whenever we passed by this church along the premium shopping street in Dongcheng district, there were always cultural activities happened in the church courtyard. On that Saturday morning, a young Chinese couple just got married in the Saint Joseph’s church and were having group photo taking session in front of it. Friends and relatives were capturing the unforgettable moment, passers-by were watching them interesting, and I kept shooting photos of this captivating scene! 🙂 – Travel Feeder, the ultimate travel photo blog
