Enrique Tomas Barcelona – The Best Spanish Sandwich Of The World

When I first saw the bunting next to this Enrique Tomas Barcelona stall that read as “The best Spanish sandwich of the world”, I was talking to myself, “Are you sure?” Then I checked out the price, and talked to myself, “Are you sure?” the second time.

I can’t confirm whether they are truly the best Spanish sandwich in the world, but I can assure you that they are the best valued ham sandwich I have ever eaten in Barcelona, if not Europe!

If you are traveling to Europe, and are visiting Barcelona, and are going to Barceloneta, and are doing shopping at Mare Magnum in Port Vell, well, then you should be able to see this little stall tucked underneath the escalator. It is one of the smaller stall selling sandwiches and ham from Enrique Tomas Barcelona. Established 25 years ago as a little sandwich stall in local market place by Henry Thomas, this sandwich and ham eatery has now become one of the largest food chain in Spain which specialized in all kinds of hams, butchery products as well as freshly made cheese and cut ham sandwiches.

We immediately fall for them when we first saw and tried these ham slice samples including Iberian ham, and salami.

For ham lovers who wish to buy whole piece of ham or jamon in spain, there are various types of hams to choose from. Prices are very reasonable.

The best part of all is this 16″ long sandwiches full of ham slices of your choice which cost only 2.20 Euro! And they taste marvelous! Jean and I ended up buying  another one for our supper… 🙂 – Travel Feeder, your ultimate photo travel blog
