Hooray! Airasia has finally responded to many travelers complaint by introducing a new direct flight to Beijing! If you can still recall, I complaint about the inconvenience of Airasia X flight to Tianjin when I was booking my flight for my Beijing trip last year. Its slightly lower fares didn’t pay off the hassle and cost of transferring to and from Tianjin international airport if we plan to travel only Beijing. Not anymore! Airasia has just answered our call to change its arriving port to Beijing, for Beijing. Now we will arrive at the Beijing International Airport for Beijing just like anybody else.
The lowest all-in fare is RM299 one way from KL to Beijing and RM693 all-in for a return flight, excluding extra options such as check-in baggage, on-board meal, seat selection and insurance. With all the Add-on items, it would cost RM923 the lowest for a return flight to Beijing International Airport. I booked MAS flight to Beijing last year for RM1,300, which is RM377 more but with all the comfort and conveniences. Airasia’s flight is not much cheaper, but at least they are flying to Beijing instead of Tianjin now.
It is normal for budget airlines to land in smaller airports to save cost so to lower their fare price but to increase our transportation cost to make a longer trip to the city. Travelers must be aware of this factor before booking. – Travel Feeder, your ultimate travel photo guide
