If surfing is not your thing, then you can just take a relaxing stroll along the sand and chat up some of the locals. Concerned about safety? No worries.

The beach has lifeguards on patrol all year long, so you can be sure that someone is keeping an eye out on beachgoers. Also, despite the many people flocking this beach, it remains clean and picturesque.

Lamington National Park

Want to get back to nature? Roughly an hour’s drive from Surfers Paradise is Lamington National Park. This World Heritage-listed park is praised for its beautiful rainforest scenery, majestic waterfalls, and fascinating wildlife.

If you happen to be an avid bird watcher, you can spot almost 200 types of birds, from colourful parrots to other elusive species, like the Bowerbird. If you want to see more incredible creatures, you can visit the Currumbin Wildlife Sanctuary and get up close and personal with some adorable koalas or impressive-looking crocodiles.
