Will the North and South Korea war tension suspend my Korea trip this May?

Following the rising political tension in between the North and South Korea that advances towards war, should or will I need to suspend my long planned holiday trip to South Korea? Finger crossed. I have spent much of my leisure for the past couple of months to plan my Korea travel and I really do not want to see this happens.

I’m keeping my eyes on the hostile situation and news of the peninsular. The latest headline today reads that North Korea government had issued a warning signal urging all foreign nationals including those working in organizations, business and especially tourists traveling in Korea to evacuate as soon as possible. The statement was followed by threats from North Korea on “thermonuclear” war towards the South Peninsula.

As the United Nation’s Secretary General Ban Ki-moon pointed out, “The current level of tension is very dangerous. A small incident caused by miscalculation or misjudgment may create an uncontrollable situation,” which is true in the sense that any false alarm caused by either party will trigger a war, a deadly war involves also the giant US, Japan and China.

The rhetoric action by North Korean leader Kim Jong-un escalated to a new high when 2 long haul missiles are moved to the East coast targeting South Korea or Guam crossing Japan. This worsened the hostile situation between the 2 nation in Korea peninsular. Moreover, Japan alerted and have deployed Patriot missile launchers in Tokyo preparing to shoot any missile down should there any.

Some said the chance for North Korea to declare a war is slim which I really hope so. Korea is my next destination to explore in the East after Japan. While many people around the world are crazy about K-pop and Korean stars, few travelers have actually traveled to Korea and share their travel photos and experiences on the web. I have this mission to capture the best side of Korea with my Nikon D7000 and to share them with my readers here in Travel Feeder.

Will conflict in between North and South Korea eventually suspend my travel plan to Korea? Definitely will. Why should we go to war when neither party will win at the end? What will lose at the end are the people, nation and the world economy. And the worst part is, you will lose an avid traveler who wish to share the beauty of your country in this coming month of May! Let’s hope that no war will happen in this world so we can travel safely around the world and this is always my birthday wish. 🙂 – Travel Feeder
