Facelifted Resort World Genting – Love You To The Sky

Genting Highland is always one of the most popular getaway destinations among local Malaysian and Singaporean. I had written a introductory post on Genting Highland some 10 years ago.

Since then, it had made a long way to become an international renown highland resort now. Rebranded as Resort World Genting, it attracts over 25 Millions visitors from all over the world each year!

With all the latest features and attractions Resort World Genting has to offer now, it’s best for me to share them with you here with off course some photos I’ve taken recently.

The biggest upgrade since we left off 10 years ago is definitely the all new Sky Avenue. The newly constructed 1-stop entertainment hub and complex comprising multi story shopping mall with over 100 retail shops, food and beverage outlets, new Skyway cable car station, Skytropolis indoor theme park and off course, the new Sky Casino.

Extending from the original First World Plaza, the enormous Sky Avenue complex features High Line precinct, an outdoor nightlife terrace at the roof top with drinking holes where patrons can do pub hopping til late night. Fancy for clubbing? Empire by Zouk is surely your choice.

What’s more, there are also cafes and restaurants dotting along the High Line precinct; Dal.Komm Coffee and San Franscisco Coffee are there for me! At dinner time, one of my favourites is Mei Zhi Guo steamboat restaurants, albeit finding a table is always difficult.

Other new attractions found in Sky Avenue include Sky Symphony, the Asian first and largest light and sound presentation utilising 1,001 numbers of suspended winch balls.

There is a new transportation hub half way down the hill at Gohtong Jaya. Buses and cars coming from elsewhere can park here to take the Skyway cable cars up to Resort World Genting. Being the longest and fastest cable cars in the region, one can reach the top of the resort in 10 minutes time.

The Genting Highland Premium Outlets

Adjacent to the transport hub is Genting Highand Premium Outlets, the new Premium Outlet brand chain of shopping experience located in the highland. You can find similar outlets as of Johor Premium Outlets down South.

While there are enough new attractions in Resort World Genting to suit everyone’s taste, other existing facilities have also been upgraded and revived, such as the Snow World and Ripley’s Adventureland.

Hotels are all refurbished to match the international star-rated standard. We experienced the new Crockford Hotel and Maxim Hotel which are absolutely awesome to stay!

One of the tourists spots located 10 minutes down from the highland peak, Chin Swee Caves Temple is now featuring a new complex with a large courtyard and an iconic pagoda.

After all, Resort World Genting is a “Must-visit” destination in Malaysia for all tourists visiting Malaysia. If you come from city centre Kuala Lumpur, the highland is merely an hour drive away! Please comment below if I have missed anything you think should get a mention here. – Travel Feeder
