Another chilly deadly Winter across Europe

This Winter has been another disaster to people living and traveling in Europe as temperatures plunged to as low as -30°C in some cities, including extreme snow storm hit some of the touristic cities like Rome, Paris and London. Hundreds of people have lost their lives in the disaster especially Eastern Europe countries such as Ukraine, Bosnia and Romania. Rome had its heaviest snowfall since 1985, forcing travel destinations such as the Colosseum to close temporarily to public. Is this another symptom to the end of our world?

Scientists had have predicted years ago that the melting icy sea in Arctic Ocean that caused by the global warming effect will one day transform our world climate and eventually destroy it. The effects of global warming are the ecological and social changes caused by the rise in global temperatures. Evidence of climate change includes the instrumental temperature record, rising sea levels, and decreased snow cover in the Northern Hemisphere. Most of the observed increase in global average temperatures since the mid-20th century is very likely due to the observed increase in human greenhouse gas concentrations. Projections of future climate change suggest further global warming, sea level rise, and an increase in the frequency of some extreme weather events.

One of the human daily activities that contributes to global warming is sadly the aviation industry. Carbon emission from thousands of flights everyday have inevitably weakened our ozone layer. So should I still traveling? Yes! I’m having this mission to travel more to various parts of this world to bring back more travel photos and share with my readers of Travel Feeder. With all my Travel by Photos posts featured in this travel blog, I hope I could save more people from flying more by bringing back travel stories and photos of those travel destinations so people could travel by just photos! 🙂

Joking aside, I do hope that our aviation industry could come out with solutions in controlling the CO2 emission from jet planes. Without which our travels to Europe and other parts of the world will become the killer to those destinations that are facing risk of extinction due to climate changing, such as Venice. Besides that, what we could do as travelers is to travel in budget! Budget traveling is beneficial to our environment as we are saving everything as much as possible on our travels including water and foods! 🙂

What about travel photography? Glad to say that digital photography has also helped in saving our world by reducing resources usage in film making, photo processing and photo printing! So take more digital photos and dumb away your old films (in a proper way and dustbin of course!) 🙂

Having said all the above, I pray for safety to whoever trapped in the Winter disaster out there and hope our earth will become stronger one day in fighting against human abuse of the environment. 🙁  – Travel Feeder, your ultimate travel and photography guide.
