Nikon D7000 DSLR Started Shipping in US… What about Malaysia? (Updated)

Good news! The long awaited Nikon D7000 DX format DSLR camera are being shipped out to customers yesterday in U.S., eventually. Exactly 1 full month after the launch of Nikon D7000, people can now holding and using it! Travel Feeder is not a tech site. I’m posting this here is because I’m going to use it for my future travel, to replace my worthy workhorse, the Nikon D60! 🙂

My D60 was immediately put up for sale when I first read the announcement of D7000 launching and talked to myself: “I’ve just found a perfect camera for travel!!” Yes. It’s definitely true for me. I’ve been traveling around with my Nikon D60 for 2 years hanging on my waist belt inside the Lowepro Cirrus TLZ15. They are perfect match to each other as the compact sized D60 was weightless on my waist! It would be great to be able to carry a waist camera bag so I could free up both of my hands to do other stuffs such as holding a map in my left hand and a cup of coffee in my right hand! And you can also climb up stairs of the Eiffel Tower without much worry on your camera of being knocked by walls or stairs if you were to hang it around your neck!

But the downside of D60 is its limited functionality and operational speed which I’m demanding more and more currently. So I need an upgrade! I need a camera that can capture higher resolution images easier and faster with reasonable robust for rough use while weighing less than the Nikon D300s. Nikon D7000 is the answer! 🙂

Updated: Added below another set of High ISO photos, with comparison to Nikon D5000

These are some of the very first images captured with a Nikon D7000, showing off its ability and usability in high ISO shots.

Technology advancement has proofed that with the same amount of money, you can now get better equipped camera DSLR bodies, though its image quality is still remained to be seen, only when I get mine here in Malaysia. The sad news is, there is still no news on its delivery date here, even though we are immediate neighbour to Thailand, the country where Nikon D7000’s are being manufactured. 🙁 – Travel Feeder, the ultimate travel photo blog
