Travel Snapshots – Lou Wong Bean Sprout Chicken Noodle, Ipoh, Malaysia

Where have I been to for the past long weekend in conjunction with Break-Fasting Festival of Muslims in Malaysia? Ipoh! When travelers talking about Ipoh city of Malaysia, 2 main things are always been discussed. One is the beautiful Ipoh ladies (I’m not touching here but you should know that the international superstar Dato’ Michelle Yeoh is from Ipoh!). Another one would definitely be their mouth-watering local foods!

However, the 2 travel photos I’m featuring here are not exactly showing the foods. They are showing the ‘Special’ scenes spotted outside of one of the famous local restaurant in Ipoh. It is the iconic local restaurant selling bean sprout chicken noodle called “Lou Wong” (老黄芽菜鸡沙河粉). Whenever there is a festive seasons and public holidays, you will be able to see this travel wonder!

Look at the crowds! The huge crowds that are standing, not sitting. Those people are waiting for the seats! You can’t even see the actual foods or chicken that are selling!

They include tourists visiting Malaysia as well as local patrons. Many people are crazy about this “special” dish from Ipoh. What made this seems simple chicken noodle soup with bean sprouts over so special is those big and juicy local planted bean sprouts which you can’t find anywhere else!

But you have to wait for at least half an hour for a vacant seat and you need to get used to people that keep watching you through out your whole dinner session before you could really enjoy the delicacies! 🙂 – Travel Feeder, the ultimate travel photo blog
