My travel photos at Port of Barcelona

This is another set of travel photos that I took in Barcelona. Barcelona is really a good destination for photography since it has pleasant subtropical weather with great sunlight and clear blue sky almost all year long. If we are visiting Barcelona by self-guided travel style, we would be able to decide our own when we should go out and shoot photos and not being rushed by the tour leader. I spent the whole afternoon in the Port of Barcelona and was able to capture some of the exciting scenes in and around the port Vell and surrounding. Here are some of the rest other than that shot at the Mare Magnum shopping mall…

Boat quay at Port Vell

At noon hours, many boats are docked at Port Vell.

Rest at Port Vell

I love this shot. Nothing spectacular technically but showing how people like to take rest and sitting at the shore, on the wooden deck off course.

Port Vell

The best angle to show the spectacular design of the swing bridge connecting the Mare Magnum mall to the Portal de la Pau square. The swing bridge will swing open once an hour to allow boats to come in and out.

Portal de la Pau, the port authority building next to the Rambla de Mars pedestrian walkway.

Boat at Port Vell

One and only sailing boat parked at Port Vell.

All photos above were shot with my new Nikon D7000 with its kit 18-105mm Nikkor lens attached. A little tips for shooting photos at noon hours with D7000: Try stopping down the exposure and switching the Picture Control setting to Vivid when shooting under bright sun should get the perfect result straight out of camera because D7000’s metering does over expose shots under extreme bright sun.

After all the shooting under hot sun, the best thing to do next would be taking a rest at the Mare Magnum mall and eat one of the best ham sandwiches from Enrique Tomas Barcelona kiosk, and no tour guide will rush you off! 🙂 – Travel Feeder, your ultimate photo travel blog
